Track and Field Coach Bios
Head Coach (Hurdles, Sprints, Relays): Danny Kung
Coach Kung enters his 7th year with the program and 4th year as head coach specializing in the hurdles, sprints and relays. Throughout his 14 years of coaching, he has coached numerous CIF-SDS individual champions and state qualifiers as well as winning 2 CIF-SDS Div. II Team Champions at La Jolla High (One with the boys and one with the girls). He has helped Sage Creek build a reputation for great long sprinters, hurdlers and relay teams along with helping lead the boys and girls team to their first track & field league championship. During the 2021 track season, he lead the both Bobcat teams to their 1st CIF Div III Title.
He hopes to continue building up the reputation of excellence as a full track and field program in San Diego.

Assistant Coach (Distance): Jason Jacobson
Coach Jason Jacobson begins his 1st year with the program. He has been coaching cross country for over 20 years in California and in Oregon. His cross country teams have won multiple league and section titles. He has had athletes and/or teams advance to the XC State Meet 18 years, including 8 straight team D-IV state meet appearances and winning the 2010 D-IV Boys State Meet. 6 of his athletes advanced to the State Meet in Track & Field. He is coming off a great 2021 Cross Country season by leading the Bobcats to 2 CIF D-IV XC Titles (boys and girls) with State Births by each squad and the Girls finishing 3rd at the State Meet.
Assistant Coach (Distance): Eoin Fahy
Coach Eoin Fahy begins his 1st year with the program as an assistant distance coach. A former collegiate runner and rower, he has extensive experience in distance running and multisports as a coach and facilitator. He has been closely involved with high school track and XC over the last decade and hopes to contribute to Sage Creek's continued success in that arena.
Assistant Coach (Sprints): RObin Missailidis
Coach Robin Missailidis enters her 2nd year with the program as an assistant coach specializing in the sprints this year. Her coaching is versatile, as she enjoys training distance and sprint athletes. She helped lead the 2021 team to become Coastal League & CIF Champions. She is a USATF Level 2 certified coach. During her 16 year coaching career, she has guided many local athletes toward outstanding high school programs through her USATF youth team. Her mantra is be kind to others.
Assistant Coach (Jumps): Jamal BRewer
Coach Jamal Brewer enters his 8th year with the program as an assistant coach specializing in the horizontal jumps. Through his 7 years at Sage Creek he has helped with setting the building blocks of the horizontal jumps as well as qualifying multiple athletes for the CIF-SDS championships.
Assistant Coach (Pole Vault): Jason Black
Coach Jason Black enters his 4th year with the program as an assistant coach specializing in the pole vault. He has helped revive the pole vault program after having no vaulting program from 2015-2017. He sent Sage Creek’s first athlete in the pole vault to the CIF-SDS championships last year and we are excited to see the program continue to grow.
Assistant Coach (Throws): Erl Cabanas
Coach Erl Cabanas enters his 3rd year as an assistant throws coach. A former collegiate sprinter, himself, he has coached 3 national champions and several medalist in the javelin, as well as a multiple athletes to the CA state championships. 2019 will mark his 40th year in coaching.
