Community Service
Requirements
All CUSD high school students are required to complete a minimum of 20 hours of community service as stated in Board Policy as a graduation requirement. Students may begin completing community service hours during the summer after 8th grade promotion.
Community service can be completed by working without pay for a non-profit organization that benefits your fellow man, the environment, or the animal kingdom. If you are paid for a service, it is not considered community service. Fundraising for a team or donating items to a cause (ie. socks/canned foods) is not considered community service.
SUBMITTING Community Service Hours
- Print the Community Service Hours Verification Form.
- Take the form with you to your community service acivity
- Complete all of the information; date of service, name of organization, phone number for the organizational contact, email address and signature (be sure to include a business card or letter from the organization).
- Complete the Community Service Hours Google Form and upload your completed documents. Forms may also be dropped off in the Counseling center. It is recommended that students save a copy of all service hours submitted for their records
