SCHS Student Reflections Contest

2017 Theme: Within Reach

Be inspired and get creative - it's as easy as 1-2-3!

All SCHS students are invited to participate and submit
original artwork in one of SIX categories:

How to Participate

(1) Reflect on the theme Within Reach

(2) Create Original Art

(3) Submit Entry Form and Artwork by Friday, Oct. 20 @ 3:00 PM

  • Students must submit artwork and entry forms to the SCHS office by October 20th.

Final Selection and Notification

Student entries will be reviewed primarily on how well the student uses his or her artistic vision to portray the theme, originality and creativity. Entries are reviewed at local, regional, state and national levels. SCHS award recipients will be notified at the end of October. National award recipients will be notified via email by National PTA, typically in May. The PTSA in its sole discretion will select finalists for exhibition and provide awards/prizes.

National PTA seeks a theme for the 2019-20 Reflections program year. If your theme is selected as one of the five winning entries advancing to National PTA for final judging, we will contact you to submit additional required paperwork.

  • The winning entry at the California State PTA level of judging will receive a $25 gift card.
  • The student who submits the winning entry at the National PTA level of judging will receive $100, and his or her theme will be presented at the Annual National PTA Convention.
  • Survey must be completed by November 1, 2017
