Hi Sage Creek Community and welcome to my home page! I am new to the English department this year, and I am so excited to be a Bobcat! If you are wondering how I ended up at Sage Creek High School, here is my story: A year ago, after learning about the mission and vision of Sage Creek High School, I became very eager to explore this new campus, as the foundation, of the school directly aligned with my beliefs in what education systems, of our rapidly changing world, should do for students. After sitting-in on several classroom lessons here on campus, I was impressed by the innovative, rigorous, and inspiring student-centered classroom environment the teachers here at Sage Creek High School created for students.I knew after my visit in these classrooms, that I had to be a part of this high school’s English department. So, I went home, pulled out a large board, and wrote in bold print that I would become an English teacher at Sage Creek High School. Six months later; here I am! I am a firm believer that if you are passionate enough about your dreams, they will become a reality. I want to teach students to believe, they too can achieve whatever goals they are passionate about, and I strive to give students the skills they need to find this kind of success. I work to foster student-centered classrooms that provide students opportunities for choice in their education, a platform to share their thoughts and feedback, and an environment to explore their passions all while practicing the skills that will make them college- and career- ready. This year, I am thrilled to start working with the students of Sage Creek iHigh School n the courses of English 2A and ACE (Academic Challenge for Excellence).
Outside of teaching, I spend my time hiking, surfing, and snowboarding. I love going on adventures, and I spend a large portion of my summers camping in Oregon. I grew up in Encinitas and love being a part of our North County community.
