Teacher Profile

This is my first year teaching at Sage Creek and I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining the Bobcat community. I subscribe to a growth mindset in which our failures provide opportunities for us to learn and grow. As an English teacher, I hope to guide my students toward self-actualization: to help my students realize their talents, their potential, and their passions. My hope is that all of the students who pass through my class will leave equipped with the language, critical thinking, and analytical skills necessary to be successful in the future.

A little bit about me:

I grew up in Sacramento, California and graduated from the University of California Davis with a BA in Political Science and a minor in Psychology. I received my teaching credential from CSU San Marcos and did my clinical practice at Vista Magnet Middle School and Carlsbad High School. I currently live in Vista with my wife, Rachel, who I had the honor of marrying last summer. I enjoy playing sports including basketball, golf, and ultimate frisbee. I love reading, traveling, listening to podcasts, and exploring the wonders of Netflix.
