My name is Jeff Simon, and I'm the math department chair here at Sage Creek.  I've been teaching in Carlsbad Unified since 2004 and have been teaching math and science at the secondary level in San Diego since 1995.  I grew up in West Los Angeles and graduated from Venice High School in '89.  I moved down here to San Diego to attend Revelle College at UCSD where I studied electrical engineering and sociology and got my teaching credential (more info about my education and work experience can be found below).  During high school and college, I earned extra money by installing car stereos and working as a summer camp counselor.  Collectively, my experience with applied math, kids, and technology have been woven together in what is now known as Mr. Simon's Math Metropolis.  At Carlsbad High, I pioneered the use of a class set of iPads which we now use for everything from digitizing our math work to animated presentations.  Between the iPads, good music, a disco ball, clear, patient instruction, and a connection with my students, learning math is made to be as pleasant as possible in my classroom.  I look forward to having you join us in Mr. Simon's Math Metropolis!
